The Trends 2005: from a social statement to the message of hair


The basis for the competition
In 2005, four trends have been selected, each belonging to a different time of life. Wella describes these trends both from a general point of view and in terms of hairfashion. All four trends - Being rebellious, Being naïve, Being in love and Being constructive - symbolise the seasons of life, thus the “Circle of Life”.

Being Rebellious
The styling is wild and rebellious. The hair can be pulled back in a punk style Mohawk or styled piece by piece. The cut is radical and varies in length. The hair can be worn up in wild plaits or left free and messy. The colours are showy, “explosive”: extreme blonde, cool black brightened with petrol, grey and metallic blue reflections. Being Naïve
It's like seeing the world through the wide, curious eyes of a child. The clothes and hair are decorated with childish accessories. Being in Love
The desire to enjoy life to the fullest and to experience emotions with intensity animates this fantasy. It is demonstrated in full voluminous hair, full of curls. This trend also features styling that makes the most of short looks. Carefully styled curls, beautiful colour, intriguing stripes that become like works of art. For the colour, a red that seduces, a rich chocolate shade for added sex appeal and a brilliant blonde that unlocks all its charms.

Being Constructive
Essentiality becomes a form of luxury. The use of innovative products of the highest quality and created with latest technology, highlights personality. The styling favours neat, elegant curls that fall to the shoulders. The short cuts have clear outlines, precise partings and discreet styling. For the colours: intense brown, cool, elegant blonde and brilliant black.
