Sugiyama

Kazuhiko Sugiyama, born in 1954 in Nagano, was already convinced at the age of just 17 that with scissors, determination and talent, he could achieve anything. That conviction was quite correct - as is amply borne out by the fact that he is now the owner of seven „Alpha“ salons in Nagano and Tokyo, with a total of 110 employees. Yet at first he couldn’t decide if he wanted to be a teacher or an architect. However he ended up at hair-styling school for a year, followed by another year as a salon assistant and then began an apprenticeship with Vidal Sassoon. At an early stage in his career, he felt a strong desire to pass his knowledge on to others. Today, after 30 years in the profession, he believes the two most important things are that process of passing on knowledge and the need to create a positive environment.
